Privacy Policy
The short version. WootWatcher has no sign-up and never asks for your name, email or address. Your watchers stay on your phone. We do collect anonymous analytics and crash reports, and the free version shows ads that use an advertising identifier.
Who we are
WootWatcher (“the app”) is published by Davit Kamavosyan (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question, write to info@appsforge.xyz.
Information you give us
None directly. There is no account, no registration and no login. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, postal address or payment details.
The watchers you create — keywords, price range and category — are stored only in the app's local database on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous identifier. On first launch the app signs in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This produces a random ID that is not connected to any real-world identity and is used to keep analytics consistent across sessions.
- Usage analytics. We record which screens you open and which actions you take (for example, creating a watcher or opening a product), through Google Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel. These events are tied to the anonymous identifier above.
- Crash diagnostics. If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends us the error, the device model, the operating system version and the app version so we can fix it.
- Advertising data. In the free version, Google AdMob serves ads and may access your device's advertising identifier to limit repeats and measure performance.
- Subscription status. RevenueCat and Google Play Billing tell us whether a subscription is active. We never see or store your card details.
What stays on your device
The following never leaves your phone and is deleted when you uninstall the app:
- Your watchers and their keywords, price ranges and categories
- Products matched against your watchers, and your search history
- App settings such as theme, notification preference and chosen check times
How we use it
- To run the features you asked for, including checking for matching deals and sending notifications
- To understand which features are used, so we know what to improve
- To diagnose crashes and fix bugs
- To show ads in the free version and to remove them once you subscribe
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
Service providers
We share the limited data described above with the providers that make the app work. Each handles it under its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — authentication, analytics, crash reporting and file storage (policy)
- Google AdMob — advertising (policy)
- Google Play Billing — subscription payments (policy)
- RevenueCat — subscription management (policy)
- Mixpanel — product analytics (policy)
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Deal data and woot.com
The app reads publicly available product listings from woot.com to show current deals and to match them against your watchers. A copy of that public product data is stored in our Firebase project so the in-app archive can show previous days. This is product information only — it contains nothing about you.
Opening a deal sends you to woot.com, which is operated independently of us and has its own privacy policy.
Permissions
- Internet — to fetch deals
- Notifications — to alert you when a watcher matches; you can decline or revoke this at any time in Android settings
- Run at startup — so scheduled checks resume after your phone restarts
- Vibrate and wake lock — to deliver notifications reliably
Your choices
- Turn off notifications in the app's settings or in Android's app settings.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads.
- Remove everything by uninstalling the app, which erases all local data.
- Ask us to delete analytics data tied to your anonymous identifier by emailing us.
Retention
Local data lives on your device until you delete a watcher or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are kept by our providers for their standard retention periods, generally up to 14 months for analytics events and 90 days for crash reports.
Children
WootWatcher is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our providers process data on servers that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on the safeguards our providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app or on the Google Play listing.
